A charming pair of period 18th century terracotta angelots (cherubs), modelled as an allegory to hunting.  One is sounding a horn and the other carrying a rabbit or hare.  Both incised with the initials CG and one dated 1745. Presented on original marble bases.  France, 1745.

A very fine late 18th century Directoire Period portrait of a gentleman, with powdered hair and wearing a ruffled shirt with coral waistcoat under a brown coat. The coral waistcoat, unusual for this post-revolutionary period, was an indication that he was awarded the French Order of the Legion of Honour.  Oil on canvas in period frame.  France, circa 1795.

A stunning pair of mid-19th century gilt bronze Chinoiserie chenets in brilliant burnished gold, modelled as a European interpretation of an oriental man and woman.  Probably cast from mid-18th century originals from the rococo period.  France, circa 1850.

A handsome pair of Carrara marble lions after the magnificent pair (Vigilant and Sleeping) created by Antonio Canova in 1792 for the tomb of Pope Clement XIII at St Peters in Rome.  Presumably from a grand architectural scheme.  Italy, late 18th to early 19th century.
